Books of Note: “A Companion to the Meuse-Argonne Campaign”

Meuse-Argonne Companion BookIn May 2014 “A Companion to the Meuse-Argonne Campaign” was released.  It was edited by Edward G. Lengel and published by Wiley Blackwell.  Similar to other publications in the publisher’s Companions to History Series, the book covers a wide range of topics related to the battle, its significance, and lessons learned.  These are organized into 29 chapters; each written by knowledgeable researchers on their respective topics.

The webmaster has written two chapters:  The first chapter covering the 111th (German) Infantry Regiment against the 35th and 1st Divisions AEF and the second chapter covering the 459th (German) Infantry Regiment against various divisions near Cunel.  A German friend, Markus Klauer, also wrote on the German High Command.

Because of the inherent conflict of interest, the webmaster will not provide an official review.
