It is early March, 2018, and the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensive Commemoration Events are just months away:  There is still seating available for the M-A Centennial Dinner and Meet and Greet that the Webmaster and Markus Klauer have organized for Friday, 21 September, 2018.  Readers are strongly encouraged to sign-up today.

The primary reason readers should participate is networking:  The Facebook Group now has almost 1,000 members.  Approximately 77% are Americans and 23% are international.  The Webmaster hopes that a similar mix will come to the dinner, and that this mix will allow a good exchange of information and contacts.

Attendees will also hear two short presentations on the Meuse-Argonne Offensive:  “The German Side of the Meuse-Argonne” by keynote speaker, Markus Klauer, and “Bringing Sept. 26, 1918 to Life” by Webmaster, Randy Gaulke.  A slide show of the spectacular “Griffin Group Photos” will also be shown throughout the evening.

Last but not least, Chef Laurent Labrosse has prepared a traditional Lorraine dinner for participants to enjoy:

  • Pave de brochet Sc. Blanc de Meuse
  • Daube de sanglier Argonnais ou Pintade aux mirabelles
  • Garniture le legumes
  • Salad de saison
  • Fromages
  • Tartellettes aux mirabelles de pays
  • Blanc de Meuse et Rouge de Meuse (raisonnablement)

  • Pike cooked in a white sauce
  • Argonne-style wild boar stew or guinea foul with mirabelles
  • Vegatables
  • Seasonal salad
  • Cheese tray
  • Mirabelle tarts
  • White and red wines from the Meuse (in moderation)

The final day to register is 14 September, 2018
